From first letters to fluent readers

learning that blooms online

Our story began when…

We each made the leap from bigger East Coast cities to beach life in South Carolina. We met here, bonded over reading and teaching, and knew we still wanted to keep working with kids in some way.

Hi! I’m Jill

For more than 20 years in grades K–3, I’ve had the privilege of watching children grow from hesitant readers into confident, capable ones. There’s nothing quite like seeing a tricky word finally click or watching a child beam with pride after reading a book on their own.

I earned my Master’s in Reading Education from West Chester University and am a certified Reading Specialist and English as a Second Language Program Specialist. My work has always centered on helping students build strong foundational skills while also building belief in themselves.

I truly believe that solid literacy skills open doors. Reading gives children confidence, curiosity, and the tools they need to fully participate in the world around them. Helping them get there is the most meaningful part of what I do.

The more you read, the more things you will know.the more that you learn, the more places you’ll go.

Hi! I’m Jacqui

Helping children grow in confidence and ability has been my life’s work for over 15 years. I’ve worked with students from kindergarten through sixth grade in a variety of school settings, and I truly believe every child can thrive with the right support, encouragement, and instruction tailored to their unique needs.

I earned my Bachelor’s degrees in Special Education and Elementary Education from Hope College and my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction with a Reading Specialist certification from George Mason University. I also completed advanced post-graduate literacy coursework at the Steinhardt School of Education at New York University to deepen my expertise in evidence-based reading instruction.

Throughout my career, I’ve been a classroom teacher, special educator, literacy interventionist, and instructional coach. I’ve supported struggling readers, partnered closely with families, coached teachers, and led early literacy initiatives. I also managed an early literacy intervention program for Fairfax County Public Schools and provided graduate-level training for educators.

But what matters most to me is this: learning is deeply personal. I work hard to create a safe, encouraging space where students feel seen, capable, and proud of their progress. My goal isn’t just academic growth — it’s helping your child build confidence, independence, and a love of learning that lasts.

I would be honored to support your child’s journey.
